b-agile was founded by Alex Brown and Chris Bexon. We consult and coach, teach Scrum.org and ICAgile courses, and build Interactive Labs so people can practise the hard parts.

Our story

Two developers and one product rewrite

We both come from software development, and we have seen the good, the bad and the ugly, including more than our share of overtime. We first worked together in 2008, on a team delivering enhancements and supporting fragile legacy systems in a traditional way.

In 2010 our team was asked to rewrite a failing product. We tried Scrum for the first time, added practices such as Extreme Programming and DevOps, and aimed for a releasable increment by the end of every Sprint. We delivered the replacement without the usual end-of-release pressure, and the business and the team could say together: “This is our product.”

We never looked back. We set up b-agile to help other teams and organisations work this way, as a Scrum.org Professional Training Partner and an ICAgile Member Training Organization. Our greatest joy is helping people achieve what they once thought was impossible.

Learning that lasts after the course

A two-day course can change how people think, but only for the people in the room. Back at work, the same systems, habits and pressure take over, and the learning fades.

Watching someone explain Kanban is different from running a board, holding WIP limits under pressure and seeing your flow metrics change. So we built Interactive Labs: AI plays the team and responds to your decisions, mistakes are cheap and feedback is immediate.

Alex Brown

Over 20 years as a developer, Scrum Master, agile coach and Professional Scrum Trainer. Early on as a developer, Alex saw the benefits of Scrum, and how much technical excellence matters if teams are to deliver high-quality products at a sustainable pace. He now helps organisations build that mindset and the practices that go with it, so they deliver value early.

Chris Bexon

Professional Scrum Trainer, ICAgile Instructor and Co-Active Coach

Chris has spent 30 years transforming how organisations deliver value, from developer to global change agent across banking, healthcare, government and technology. A Scrum.org Professional Scrum Trainer, ICAgile Instructor and Certified Co-Active Coach, he helps organisations move from industrial-age structures to flow-focused, product-led operating models. Frustrated that most training teaches theory without building real capability, he designs b-agile's Interactive Labs: production-quality simulations where teams experience flow, experiment with strategies and build genuine understanding, made with the same AI-driven techniques he teaches.
